Argomall in partnership with CoinGate for cryptocurrency payments

Argomall and CoinGate hopes that cryptocurrency payments would make it easier for Filipinos to purchase electronic devices and to provide a cheap and fast alternative to traditional payment methods.

Argomall in partnership with CoinGate for cryptocurrency payments

Philippine online retailer Argomall is now accepting payments in cryptocurrencies through a partnership with cryptocurrency payment processor CoinGate.


This is according to a report from the Manila Bulletin on 29 April 2019.


Argomall listed a total of 46 cryptocurrencies that the online retailer will support as a form of payment through its partnership with CoinGate that includes:

Argomall announced that they had started accepting payments in cryptocurrencies starting last 1 April 2019.


Argomall chief Karel Holub said that the online retailer’s support for cryptocurrency payments is part of its mission and vision to make finding and purchasing electronic gadgets in the Philippines easy while providing their customers with the best service on the internet.


Holub also said that Argomall allowing cryptocurrency payments is a “win-win situation where everyone gets good benefits.”


CoinGate marketing manager Veronika Mishura said that the cryptocurrency payment processor’s partnership with Argomall is a “large step for cryptocurrency adoption” and is CoinGate’s first intergration in Southeast Asia.


Mishura added that cryptocurrency payments provide “a cheaper and faster alternative to traditional payment methods,” and the adoption of such payments could lead it to “becoming a standard payment method along with credit cards.”


Argomall was established by the Filipino-owned conglomerate Transnational Diversified Group in November 2015 as an online retailer that delivers “trustworthy and efficient solutions to the discerning Filipino tech shopper.”


Among the products it offers are smartphones, laptops, tablets, TVs and accessories from leading brands.


CoinGate is a cryptocurrency payment processor that went live in March 2015 that had processed 200,000 payments and 50,000 registered users as of April 2018.


CoinGate supports payments in a total of 52 cryptocurrencies.
